OSRS F2P Money Making Guide — Every Real Method, Live Prices

Most F2P money making guides online were written once and never touched again — the gp/hr numbers are from whenever the author last checked, which could be months or years ago. Grand Exchange prices move daily. This guide doesn't try to be the exception by being updated more often; it links straight into a tool that recalculates every figure live, so the number you see is never stale.

The real constraint on F2P income

Free-to-play has no Grand Exchange access to bosses, no Slayer beyond the basics, and a much smaller item pool than members. That means the honest F2P money list is short — shorter than most guides admit, because a lot of "F2P methods" floating around are actually members content mislabelled, or technically F2P but so slow they're not worth doing.

What's actually left splits into two real categories: skilling/processing methods that buy an input and sell a more valuable output, and a small set of F2P-viable combat spots. Both are covered below.

F2P skilling and processing

That sapphire-cutting entry is worth a note: an earlier version of this method assembled full sapphire rings — gem, gold bar, furnace — and at realistic prices that recipe loses money once GE tax is paid on both legs of the trade. Cutting the gem alone and reselling it is the part that's actually profitable, which is why it's listed that way here rather than as jewellery.

F2P combat

This is the category most guides get wrong — either by listing members bosses as if they're F2P, or by skipping combat entirely because there's genuinely less of it available. Three real F2P combat spots:

The chaos druid spot sits in low-level Wilderness, which means real PvP risk exists even if it's shallow — bring nothing you'd mind losing, and hop worlds rather than fight a PKer.

Why F2P gp/hr numbers online disagree with each other

Two reasons, and they compound. First, prices genuinely move — an item worth 400gp last month can be worth 250gp today, and a guide's gp/hr figure was only ever true at the moment it was calculated. Second, most published rates assume a specific gear setup or skill level without saying so; a rate quoted for 99 Woodcutting with a dragon axe is meaningless if you're at the gate level with a rune axe, and F2P can't use a dragon axe at all.

Every method on this site states the exact assumption its rate is built on, and computes the gp side of the equation live rather than quoting a number from whenever it was written.
